the One for you

at 20 years 7 months and 15 days old, i should be happily looking for a potential life partner. but on the contrary, i'm happily looking out for people and their potential life partners. this whole nation-wide flurry of lovey dovey-ness has no doubt had an effect on me.
well, say hello to the (not so often talked about) group of recently detached individuals. ignore us as you may when engaging in prince charming talks, but, hey, we do exist. now where do we stand in this whole situation of man-hunting? there is no answer to this question bcos the fact is we no longer stand, but we sit. we sit back and just reflect, think, and look into ourselves. maybe, some look beyond the self and see that the need is not for another someone to take that place.
at such a juncture, don't we realise, there's so much more within us that we hadn't previously seen?
of cos, feministic independence aside, a part of me still does want to eventually have some kids with someone i love. some find love on the roadside bakery store, some are known as high school sweethearts, some bind through common interest, some attract bcos they are opposites. each of us has our own ideal love story (which may or may not come true in this lifetime). but maybe, if we just not look too hard, love might really be just round the corner. my ideal is when i turn the corner, that you'll be standing there as you already have been all my life.
Ideals are afterall idealistic. So back to reality, we'll not date, not hunt but live on, self-reliant, for now.
