a yearly reminder

it's Easter weekend. again.
what a reminder, of what Jesus did for you and i more than 2000 yrs ago.

i asked my sister who came today, which scene of our production, The Centurion, was the most impactful for her. i was expecting maybe the fight scene which we spent so much time working on or the funny act within the show. but she said without a thot, "the Jesus walking down scene", which is the Via Dolorosa (latin for Way of Grief / Suffering).

despite the special effects, the politics in the storyline, the hunky males, nothing is more moving than the same scene we repeat year after year. bcos the truth is, there is nothing more beautiful than Agape.

i had a small part in the drama this year as a woman along the Via Dolorosa. as i followed the cross and "jesus", i thought about my relationship with Jesus. an imperfect, sinful person saved by a righteous Man. after the nailing, at the 4th service, i looked up at "jesus" and for a moment the bloodied body, piercing nails appeared so real, and it dawned upon me, just how much pain and suffering Jesus, the Son of God, bore on the cross. and He did it for me.

Heb 12:2 " Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God "

  "remind me. who You are."
