Taiwan Day 6 - Taroko National Park

We reached Hua Lien on Day 5 night, and went out for some heavy supper! We went to a 热炒 (or what we know as 主炒, Zhi Char) place at a night market. The interesting thing is that they have an open mic KTV where anybody can just go and sing in the hearing of everybody.

The spread

My fav dish of the night!

And we all had a go at posing with Taiwanese beer!
The beer was really light and felt almost like tea to me. With that, we ended the night!

On a swing! whee!

The 5 of us eager to set off on our adventure today!
First stop: BREAKFAST!
The Hua Lien version of 蛋煎饼 Egg Crepe.  The difference btw this and the Crepe previously  I've had in Taipei city was that this is more "soggy" (in a good way), like 肠粉, Chee Cheong Fan, and it has something like sweet soya sauce on it. I picked a heavenly combination of Bacon, Cheese & Egg which turned out as heavenly as the combi sounds. =D
5 thumbs up for this!
The bulk of the day was to be spent at Taroko National Park where we will explore gorges and be out in nature. Here's a glimpse at the 海阔天空 view we had. i love being out in the nature! (:
the pristine waters, the rocks and the mountains.

beware of falling rocks!

hand in hand, they will walk through the valleys and caves.

"Merciful Mother" Bridge

After lunch, while we were waiting to set off, this little boy came over randomly and slapped Allen on his back. It was pretty funny. We all concluded that Allen was so 欠打 that even a kid could see it and came over and slapped him. Anyway, we spent some time playing with him.

He is so adorable and spoke and acted like an adult at times. Look!

"i'm da boss" pose. He wasn't satisfied with the jumping shot we took.
There was a part of the trail where we could cross a suspension bridge. Here's the people who started and take note of the people who ended (or rather the one person who didn't make it across).
everybody attempted.

on da bridge!
what was below us!

those who kept the faith and finished the "race". hee. you can spot the one man left behind at the other entrance of the bridge.
